We need help with
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with EMR/EHR integration expertise and strong Node.js skills to join our growing team. You'll be building robust integration solutions that connect healthcare systems, working in a dynamic environment where you'll have direct impact on our products and ultimately improve healthcare delivery for patients and providers alike.
This position is predominantly backend-focused. We use Node.js (TypeScript), RESTful APIs, healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, X12), MongoDB, PostgreSQL, message brokers, and AWS Cloud Platform.
What's it like to work in Engineering at Solace?
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services for EMR/EHR integrations using Node.js
- Implement and optimize API connections with various healthcare systems (Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, etc.)
- Work with healthcare data standards to ensure seamless data exchange
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and data security across all integration points
- Troubleshoot complex integration issues and optimize system performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technical architecture decisions
- Document integration architectures, APIs, and technical processes
- Stay current with healthcare interoperability standards and best practices
You have deep experience with healthcare integrations and Node.js.
- Minimum 4+ years of backend development experience with Node.js in production environments
- 2+ years working directly with EMR/EHR integrations (Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, etc.)
- Strong understanding of healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, X12)
- Experience with RESTful API development and API authentication methods
- Knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL)
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance requirements for software development
- Experience with asynchronous processing and handling high-volume data transfers
You can identify integration challenges, understand their impact, and work collaboratively to deliver well-crafted solutions that meet both technical and healthcare-specific requirements.
You have good communication skills.
You can effectively translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate productively with team members across different functions, from product managers to clinical specialists.
You write clean, performant code.
Our integrations handle sensitive healthcare data, which needs to be reliable and secure. You enjoy putting effort into crafting well-tested, maintainable code that follows industry best practices.
